The EU Forum for Agricultural and Rural Advisors (EUFRAS) Annual Assembly took place from 21st till 22nd of February 2018 in Warsaw, Poland, together with the International conference “Challenges for agricultural advisory after 2020”. The assembly and conference were hosted by EUFRAS member organization Agricultural Advisory Center in Brwinow.
Within the 2 days conference, members of the EUFRAS as well as representatives of the Commission (DG AGRI), the Ministry of Agriculture of Poland and EU Horizon 2020 projects presented insights from their work within advisory services in agriculture and exchange views on the current and future challenges of advisory. A project presentation session was organized together with a poster session were the participants were informed about EU and national projects and initiatives supporting and enabling agricultural advisory services.
Digital and e-services and the use of technology were the focus of one of the conference sessions which highlighted the need and importance of the use of new technology in advisory services in order to respond to the challenges and changes in the agricultural sector. Within the scope of the specific project presentation session of the conference, the RECAP project was presented by Dimitrios Petalios (CREVIS SPRL). The presentation focused on the value proposition of the use of RECAP platform and tools, facilitating the day-to-day work of advisors and enabling them to provide and develop added value e-services to farmers. Our RECAP partner LAAS (Lithuanian Advisory Services), member of EUFRAS also participated and presented their work in provision of advisory services in Lithuania.
